‘Take your NYSC serious’ – Buhari’s photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo

President Buhari’s photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, who reacted to the disqualification of Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, as an APC Governorship aspirant in Oyo State, advised Nigerians to take their NYSC serious. According to President Buhari’s photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, if a Minister can be disqualified for not having an NYSC certificate, then it is very serious. Soldier shoots guard commander in Abuja (graphic photos)

A Nigerian soldier attached to Mogadishu Cantonment, a military barracks in Abuja, reportedly shot a guard commander after an argument on his alarming alcohol consumption rate. It was gathered that soldier who returned drunk after a short break, was confronted by the guard commander who asked him to change up for duty. However the drunk soldier who changed into his uniform, picked up his rifle, came back and shot the guard commander. Upon realizing what he has done, the soldier allegedly shot himself but missed his own head and shot his mouth. He was rushed to the hospital, and his present condition is still not known at the time of filing this report. Breaking: INEC declares Osun governorship election inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the 2018 Osun State Governorship election inconclusive. The returning officer, Joseph Adeola announced this moments back. He said based on the fact that the total number of votes margin between the leader and the second was not up to the number of votes canceled. The figure of canceled votes currently stands at 35,498. Joseph Adeola said the date for the completion of the polls would be communicated soon. The election, one of the closest in Nigeria’s electoral history, was held on Saturday to elect a new governor for the South-Western state. At the end of collation of results, Ademola Adeleke of the PDP won majority votes of about 254,698 while Gboyega Oyetola of the APC came a close second with 254,345 votes. The difference between the two leading parties was just 353 votes but the number of cancelled votes was 35,498 In that case, rerun will be held in only affected areas where elections were cancelled. Former Kwara Governor, Femi David Lasisi Bamigboye, reportedly died in Lagos on Friday after a brief illness. The burial date of the late Former Kwara Governor, will be announced later as disclosed by a close family source. Before his death, Brigadier General Femi David Lasisi Bamigboye was the first Military Governor of Kwara State from May 1967 to July 1975, after it had been divided from the old Northern Region during the military regime of General Yakubu Gowon. He is an Igbomina man from Omu Aran, Irepodun local government area. Born 7 December 1940, he was succeeded by late Ibrahim Taiwo, preceded by Hassan Katsina His younger brother is Theophilus Bamigboye, another military ruler turned politician. In 1968 he created the Kwara State Ministry of Education, with a department to handle Scholarship/Bursary matters. 181,000 pupils sit for common entrance in Lagos State

181,000 primary six pupils sat for the 2018 common entrance examination in Lagos State alone. According to the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, 181,000 primary six pupils from private and public schools across the state sat for the 2018 Placement Test into Junior Secondary School 1. Dr Ganiyu Sopeyin, Executive Chairman of SUBEB, made this known to journalists after monitoring the exercise at Mende Junior High School, Maryland, Lagos. He said the test took place in 361 designated centres across the state. Sopeyin described the conduct of the test as satisfactory in the centres he monitored, which also included Immaculate Heart Comprehensive Junior and Senior High School, Maryland, Lagos.
