Senator Ademola Adeleke who the uncle to Nigerian musician, Davido may forfeit his  ambition to become Governor of Osun state after being trailed by certificate scandal. The Osun PDP’s governorship candidate, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, has been dragged to court by some aggrieved members of the party for alleged non-possession of primary school certificate. The members are seeking that the court grants an interim order to set aside results of the governorship election that produced Adeleke.   The plaintiffs are also asking the court to grant an order restraining the PDP from presenting Adeleke’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the September 22nd governorship poll.   When the case came up for mention on Wednesday, July 25, the counsel for the applicants, Mr Mathew Ayandokun, prayed the court for an interim order setting aside the election of Adeleke. Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, the Senator representing Osun West, has won the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his state. The senator defeated his closest challenger, Akin Ogunbiyi, to emerge the flagbearer of the PDP in the September 22 governorship election. Adeleke won by a close margin, securing 1569 votes while Ogunbiyi had 1562. Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, the Chairman of the election panel said the expected delegates who voted were 3,448 while accredited delegates who participated in the election were 3,246. He said 56 votes were voided. He described the primary as a family contest, urging the other three contestants to support Adeleke for the party to win the election as there was no loser in the election. He added that any aspirant who is not satisfied with the result can appeal to the National Working Committee of the party. “This exercise is a brotherly contest. The Lagos State Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is set to go cashless by the end of 2018. Fola Tinubu, Managing Director and CEO, Primero Transport Services has revealed that services on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) will be operated with a card system starting from the end of 2018. The Managing Director made this known in an interview with  Punch Newspaper where he said that the card system will be introduced to prevent fraud and to generate revenue. He said; “With the new card system, we would be sure of what is coming to us and would have blocked leakages. Our target is that by the end of the year, nobody would board the buses without our cards. There are two sets of cards. There is the Lagos Connect, which can be used on our buses only and another one with Sterling Bank called My Fare, which you can use on our buses and also use in grocery stores with Point of Sale machines.” Tinubu also said that the BRT scheme currently transports about 150,000 Lagosians on ...

The senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has been conferred with a chieftaincy title in Ilorin. Saraki was surprisingly bestowed with a chieftaincy title ‘Waziri’ of Ilorin by Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, when he visited him for a thanksgiving ceremony on Sunday. The thanksgiving prayer session according to Saraki who disclosed this via his facebook handle, was to thank Allah for his recent victory at the Supreme Court. Davido’s  uncle and  B-Red’s  dad,  Senator Ademola Adeleke , who declared his interest to contest in the  Osun State  Governorship election scheduled to take place this year, has been alleged to be involved in a certificate scandal. Former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has said female politicians are more trustworthy than their male counterparts. Obasanjo said this while urging Nigerian women to get more involved in political activities. Obasanjo, who spoke at a retreat in support of women’s participation in government, political processes and the work place organized by the Initiative for Information, Arts and Culture Development in Nigeria in conjunction with the American Corner, Ibadan, cited the number of men who were prosecuted for several corrupt cases compared to women, and other factors as evidence of his assertion. In the keynote address, Obasanjo said women’s contributions to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) were higher. “No nation will become great when half of her population ends up only in the kitchen and ‘the other room’, or get disproportionately discriminated against in the higher echelon of corporate management and in governance.” ...

32-year-old Chima Ononiwu who plotted the  kidnap  and murder of one Kelechi Lazz, who doubles as his in-law and also his Uncle’s wife, has been arrested by the  Imo State  Police Command. The suspect had engaged a kidnap kingpin to abduct Kelechi, and ran out of luck as diligent investigation by the Police led to his arrest. Speaking on the arrest of the suspect, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dasuki Galandanchi, told newsmen in Owerri; “Chima Ononiwu is a 32-year-old  man from Umuola Umunakanu-Ama in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, but he resides in Lagos State. “He contracted a house builder for his uncle, Dr. Lazz Ononiwu, to get a kidnap gang to abduct and murder his wife, Kelechi Lazz. “He immediately left for Lagos State, where he is residing and was coordinating the illicit job from there.
